At Harvest912, our mission is to deliver footcare, new boots, basic necessities and the Love of God to those in need.

The Harvest912 story started in the midst of the turmoil, division and darkness of 2020 America. Tad and I, like so many others, felt the weight of darkness and hatred beat down on us relentlessly and wondered if and how we could defeat it. Our Pastor, Joe Gerhart, had encouraged the church family to step outside of our comfort zones and to reach out with God’s love and light, to let the Holy Spirit work through us to bring that light to bear…easier said than done…what difference could we make?

The community gathered today for the Homeless Person’s Memorial to honor the lives of those lost on the streets.

We know our brothers and sisters are finally home.

Each year on the winter solstice and the longest night of the year, we pause to honor our friends who lost their lives on the streets.
This year, the Homeless Persons Memorial is today, December 20th (instead of the 21st).
Join us at 12 noon in Perry Square to honor the lives lost in 2025.

We always love coming to Erie City Mission and today was no exception! After having to cancel our Nov 30 clinic due to the winter storm, it was great to get back out, see some old friends and make some new ones!
A huge thanks to our team...Julia, Lisabeth, Derek, Penny, and Edie took great care of our guests!

Did you know that about 15% of our clinic guests are Veterans? They know how important it is to take care of their feet so they (and all our guests) absolutely love their Carolina Shoe Company boots. We are so thankful to Turf Management Services for getting our warehouse plowed out! They REALLY helped us out in a pinch.
We were finally able to get to our inventory and delivered 35 backpacks with warm, dry Carolina Shoe Company boots to folks who were scheduled for our cancelled clinic last Saturday and others who were in dire need.
Most (but not all) of our friends on the street have been sleeping at Our Neighbor's Place emergency shelter overnight, but then they have to leave at 6:45 AM and find a safe place to shelter during the day. It can be a long, dangerous walk in this brutal weather, especially in sneakers (or worse).
Glad they have solid footwear now...no one should have to risk their health and safety because they don't have permanent housing!

Today, December 3rd, in Erie, PA it’s 32 degrees. There is over 3 feet of snow on the ground and our friends on the street are struggling to stay safe and warm. We’ll be out looking for the folks who we missed due to the clinic weather cancellation last Saturday.
We know that many of them are trying to survive with sneakers or even crocs and we’ll do our utmost to get warm, dry Carolina Shoe Company boots to them in hopes this will provide a bit of comfort. Our MIC team will also be out this weekend looking for folks who are in encampments to bring some MR2E warm meals and other essentials.

Harvest912 Tucson was busy yesterday with a clinic at the Gospel Rescue Mission and had a great day back at the site where they held their very first clinic last March! It was a wonderful day generously sponsored by Congregation Bet Shalom - thank you for your heart for this outreach!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, mother nature had other plans...as we get slammed with 3+ feet of snow and virtually impossible travel, we had to cancel our clinic scheduled for this morning.
As you go about your weekend, travel safe and please say a prayer for our friends who are out on the street in this horrendous weather here in Erie...we're devastated that we could not get out today to get boots on their feet. We'll do our best to find and connect with our guests once we're able to be out on the roads!

What a great day yesterday in Altoona with BEN Blessed and the amazing crew from Carolina Shoe Company who made everything happen! Thanks to all of you and to our medical team of Bridget, Elle, Lexi and Adam for taking great care of 40 people. They all left with their feet in good shape and an awesome, warm, dry pair of @carolinashoe boots for the winter!
On the way home, we also realized that Harvest912 hit a HUGE milestone yesterday...our final guest of the day was the 1000th guest through our clinic here in PA!
When we started this outreach a little over 4 years, we honestly didn't envision how it would take on a life of its own and certainly never thought we would help 1000 people in a little over 4 years!
We've been blessed to meet so many incredible people on this journey...volunteers who give of their time selflessly, chiliheads who support us through Mad Cow Products by Harvest912 and, especially, our guests who teach us so much about grace and humility at each and every clinic.
We can't wait to see what the future brings for Harvest912!
BTW...shoe size of our 1000th guest??? 9 1/2!

Wow…busy morning for Harvest912!!! Tad & I were at Emmaus Soup Kitchen packaging our new MR2E’s (single serving freeze dried meals) for our M.I.C. outreach.
Meanwhile, the Mobile unit was on the road for a clinic at the Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA. Thanks Kane, Alyssa, John, Linda, Mary & Julia!!
